June 21, 2021 – On June 16, the first Confare Convention of the year took place at the Meliá Hotel Vienna, under the motto “Innovative-Digital-Experience”. Digital transformation is at the top of the agenda for companies in 2021. Technology is changing all areas of life and the way businesses function. We communicate with chatbots, artificial intelligence helps make decisions and IT systems act autonomously, without human intervention. Digital pioneers from areas such as IT, service, HR, marketing and sales took the opportunity to exchange experiences and network. The day concluded with the presentation of the #IDEAward 2021, which honors companies that are actively shaping the future with new ideas as digital pioneers.
The categories in which an award was presented were:
- Digital Business Transformation.: Here, transformation projects were sought in which companies demonstrate their future viability.
- Business Model Innovation and Customer Experience: The question was asked about measures that inspire the business model or the customer experience.
- Collaboration, mobility, innovation and creativity: Initiatives for new working environments were sought here.
- From Industry 4.0 to chatbots: Ideas for smart automation and the intelligent use of new technologies were convincing in this category.
- Startups and crowd sourcing: How will collaboration beyond company boundaries work in the future?
Cortical.io was recognized for its AI-based core technology that allows information to be extracted from large volumes of unstructured documents. This has shown to drive automation, make workflows more efficient, and reduce time and costs.
We are very proud that, as a small Austrian company with comparatively limited resources, we have managed to develop a unique and patented AI base technology and applications that build on it, such as Contract Intelligence, which is mainly used by large US enterprises. This is an important signal in a technology market that is 90% dominated by well-funded players in the US. Accolades like the IDEA Award are also a signal that the European economy is systematically moving towards digitalization of business processes using Machine Learning and AI.
